Now That Cristina’s Gone, Will Grey’s Anatomy Reunite Owen and Teddy?

Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) are a legendary couple but an impossible one — Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 17 ("Do You Know?") proved that. Now that they have said their (silent) goodbyes, might it be time to bring back the only other woman we ever shipped for Owen? Could Season 11 reunite Owen with Teddy Altman (Kim Raver)?

Teddy and Owen loved each other for years, but their issue was always timing. They loved each other during their time as army medics in Iraq, but Owen was engaged to another woman. Their feelings rekindled when Owen brought her to Seattle, but at the time he was in a relationship with Cristina, Teddy's protégé. (Complicating matters further was the fact Cristina and Teddy had a great deal of respect for one another.)

Finally, Owen fired Teddy when she got an impressive job offer at the U.S. Army Medical Command but refused to leave Owen in Seattle. To get her to take the job, Owen told Teddy, "You go, and you be great," and she told him, "You don't lose her. You fight. You fight for her."

Owen did as he was told. He and Cristina fought for each other, and they fought with each other, and they realized — as did we all — that they might always be lovers but could never be partners.

So now Owen is alone, and it could finally be time for things to work out with Teddy.

Actress Kim Raver is currently starring on 24, but there hasn't been word of another season for that show, so we're thinking her schedule could be conveniently clear. Ball's in your court, Shonda Rhimes!

What do you think? Should Owen and Teddy give it another try? Should he romance another woman? Should he remain single for awhile? Let us know in the comments below.
