About Wetpaint
Wetpaint, the leader in social publishing, is a Web 2.0 startup developing a social publishing platform that lets anyone build a rich, online community around the whatever-it-is that they’re really into. Utilizing the best features of wikis, blogs, message boards and social networks, Wetpaint mixes everything one would need so they and their friends can create, collect, and organize content on their own social website. Since the company’s June 2006 debut, close to 1,000,000 user-created community sites have been created. Wetpaint has also partnered with prominent consumer brands within the key categories of entertainment (Discovery Channel, FOX, Showtime, and Warner Bros.), technology (Dell, T-Mobile, HP, Oracle, and HTC), and lifestyle (Food & Wine, Executive Travel, Better Homes & Garden) to launch social website communities around their brands and products.
Located in a funky loft space in the historic Pioneer Square district of Seattle, we are a small company where collaboration and innovation are championed. Funded by the same venture capital firms backing Facebook and Photobucket, Wetpaint is well positioned to change the way people interact on the internet.
Position Description
The Developer Evangelist is a passionate advocate for Wetpaint who recruits and aids website operators to deploy Wetpaint’s API and widget technologies. The ideal candidate brings a broad mix of skills in marketing, program or product management, account management and customer support, all while speaking the language of developers. The perfect candidate could in fact get a job as a Web 2.0 developer, but enjoys working with customers so much that he or she would rather not be an engineer.
The Developer Evangelist will publicize Wetpaint technologies; ooze technical credibility, goodwill, and helpfulness; and win over developers worldwide to adopt Wetpaint’s innovative technology platform. In the process, this outstanding individual will help other websites be markedly more successful, and build an amazingly successful developer program for Wetpaint. As a conduit for the Wetpaint developer community, the right candidate will go beyond publicizing what we already offer, to bring back feedback and new ideas that help evolve and improve Wetpaint’s offerings.
The candidate we’re looking for is a highly motivated self-starter who is excited about technology, can build an exciting and effective developer program, and can collaborate with technical, creative and business teams in a fast-paced environment. He/she has superior written, verbal and presentation skills, experience working with a diverse group of partners, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
