About Wetpaint
From its earliest roots, Wetpaint has been a web publisher specializing in scalable content platforms designed to capitalize on disruptive changes in online technology and publishing. Our initial community platform, wikis by Wetpaint, reaches 10 million monthly unique users. The company’s new proprietary publishing platform is engineered to produce premium branded media destinations featuring professionally-authored content across an array of categories — with a 5-10X economic advantage over traditional web publishing models. Wetpaint Entertainment (www.wetpaint.com), custom-tailored for young women who love TV and fashion, is our first property on the new platform. Recognizing that technology and audience expectations have changed media forever, Wetpaint has re-visioned what it takes to create, monetize, and distribute top-shelf content efficiently — and how to best package it in ways that garner audience loyalty and brand distinction.Founded in 2005 by Internet pioneer Ben Elowitz, and with offices in Seattle and New York, Wetpaint is backed by top-tier investors Trinity Ventures, Frazier Technology Ventures, Accel Partners, and DAG Ventures. Recognized with awards and honors by Time, OnHollywood, Washington Technology Industry Association, and AlwaysOn, Wetpaint offers a destination for millions of people to consume content, contribute to their community, and interact with other fans who share their passions.
With a CEO that has founded two very successful startups previously (Fat Brain and Blue Nile) and a leadership team comprised of veterans from Amazon, Starbucks, McKinsey, and Microsoft, we aren’t afraid of diving in where others failed – and we have results to show for it.
