Lindsay Lohan on Her Paranoia: “I Can Hear an iPhone Flash From Across The Room”
Lindsay Lohan is looking for a fresh start, and a really great way to do that? Make a huge move. Lindsay’s taking her act on the road — well, over the ocean — to London, England, where she’ll be starring in a stage production of Speed-The-Plow on London’s famed West End later in 2014.
Part of her big decision to move is the opportunity to start all over again, without being part of the tabloid frenzy that comes with living in LA. In a new interview with BBC News, Lindsay talks about why she thinks London is the best place for her to be right now — and how tired she is of the image she’s trying to shed.
“There’s a different standard to it here,” the 28-year-old says. “It seems more prestigious. It seems a bit more serious and that’s something that I really want to experience … It’s nice to be able to turn on the TV and not everything is about gossip. That’s a really nice feeling.”
Especially since it’s rare that anything in the media about Lindsay is actually positive. And after her more recent scandals (like her leaked hook-up list) she’s understandably developed a little paranoia.
“My friends think I’m neurotic,” Lindsay explains. “But I will hear the flash of an iPhone camera, I will hear the shutter from a mile across the room. I will feel it.”
But things are going to be better for her now, and she’s even considering moving to London permanently. Might not be such a bad idea, if it will help her get her life back on the right track.
“I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation,” Lindsay says. “However long it does take, I’m willing to do it. I’m willing to work for it.”
