Patrick Dempsey Has Lost 17 Pounds — He Shares How He Did It (VIDEO)

You might find McDreamy to be even McDreamier now!

Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) revealed to David Letterman on The Late Show on Aug. 26 that he recently lost 17 pounds!

In the interview, which you can watch below, David asks Patrick about his kids — an 11-year-old girl and twin 6-year-old boys with wife Jillian Fink — and the 47-year-old actor details his family's sporty lifestyle.

"We have to keep them active, so a lot of soccer," he explained. "You have to keep them moving constantly, so we go down, we scrimmage … It's a good way for me to stay healthy, get a cardio workout in."

The veteran host notes that Patrick looks great, asking if he's lost weight. (The audience applauds, and Patrick laughs and thanks them.)

"Yeah … About 17 pounds, I think," he says. "From we started the project for Velocity, [getting] ready to go to Le Mans, 17 pounds."

"Because weight is the enemy of speed," Dave quips. "Is that why you lost the weight?"

Replies Patrick: "I lost it to be in shape for the car and just [for] conditioning."

OK, mister: We know you just play a doctor on TV, but share some more of your health tips with us, will ya?
