Paul Walker’s Mother Petitions For Guardianship of Daughter Meadow (VIDEO)
When the terms of Paul Walker’s will were released in February, it seemed likely that Paul’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, would petition for guardianship of Paul’s daughter, Meadow — who’s the sole beneficiary of Paul’s estate. And now, it sounds like that’s exactly what’s happening.
According to E! Online, Cheryl filed for guardianship on March 18, stating that it “will be necessary and convenient for Petitioner to be appointed as the guardian of the person and the estate,” especially because “the mother has a drinking problem.”
It’s important that the right person has watch over the 15-year-old Meadow and the money she’ll eventually inherit, since $25 million is at stake. The money could never replace the loss of her father, but Meadow will be considerably set for the rest of her life as soon as she turns 18.
In her petition, Cheryl also states that Meadow and her mother already live with her, and lived with her before Paul passed away on November 30. If Cheryl’s awarded guardianship, Meadow’s life will have whatever normalcy she has left without her dad and may be the easiest transition for her.
Paul’s will also named Cheryl as Meadow’s “dedicated guardian,” so it’s what Paul wanted, too.
Paul’s friends and family are doing their best to adjust to life after the loss of their loved one. Fast & Furious 7 resumed filming this week in Atlanta to gear up for the film’s April 2015 release.
