It’s news we really didn’t want to hear but, sadly, various outlets are reporting Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose. The 25-year-old mother of two passed away suddenly earlier this month with the initial autopsy coming back inconclusive.
The toxicology report is still forthcoming, with official results expected to be released on May 1.
Peaches was found dead in her Kent home in the U.K. on April 7, with police calling the death “unexplained and sudden.” At the time, The London Times reported police discovered no evidence of drugs or paraphernalia in the house. The latest update, however, suggests the house “may have been searched and items removed prior” to the arrival of authorities, says The Daily Mail.
The daughter of Bob Geldof, Peaches had a history of experimenting with drugs as a teenager but said she was “never that wild.” Her mother, Paula Yates, died of a drug overdose at age 41 in 2000 when Peaches was 11 years old. Her younger sister, Tiger Lily, was in the house at the time, sadly mirroring Peaches’ own death. Her youngest son, 1-year-old Phaedra, was reportedly at home when his mother died.
The day before her death, Peaches posted a photo of herself and her mother. The post has since been removed, along with Peaches’ Instagram account.
“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons,” Peaches’ husband Thomas Cohen said in early April. “I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
