Maci Bookout Calls Out People Who Abuse Social Media

Teen Mom's Maci Bookout isn't above posting the occasional selfie or Instagram photo of an inspirational quote, etc. — she’s a typical Millennial gal like that. But everybody has their social media pet peeves, and she blogged about proper etiquette in a pretty funny post titled, “#aint #nobody #got #time #for #that.”

"Although sometimes I think there should be, unfortunately there is no rulebook on using social media," Maci wrote. "I frequently find myself wanting to tell these people that they're doing it all wrong." So she shared the things that prompt her own "Dislike" button.

The first: "Likes' won't make your dirty laundry any cleaner." As she explained in part of the post, "Nobody wants to know about how many times your 'other half' has cheated, nor do we need to hear every single detail of your on-again, off-again relationship. I don't even like thinking about my own dirty laundry, so what in the hell makes you think that I would want to be exposed to yours? Social media is in no way, shape, or form a clothes line. Please stop using it as such."

True … although it’s interesting to hear it from a former reality TV star. That genre exists to air dirty laundry!

Maci also shared her frustration with people dissing U.S. leaders publicly on social media because "it makes our country look weak," and she thinks it's embarrassing. "I can respect someone that shares their own beliefs or ideas on social media respectfully, if they choose to do so. But, I do not condone people who use social media to publicly disrespect the leaders of our country...You can and should share your opinions without being a complete dipsh-t while doing so." Some people have trouble doing anything without being complete poops, but it's good advice to try.

Another Maci suggestion is to stop tweeting about your workout. "I'm happy for all of you that, unlike me, were born with a genetic blessing of enjoying the gym… but quite frankly, I don't give a sh-t if you're fit."

Here's another good tip: "If the picture you're sharing should require a caption like: 'Do my boobs make my eyes look blue?' or 'I'm loving my new white yoga pants!' … Please, just stop. Ladies, you should want respect… not 'Likes'."

Now we want someone to come up with a country song titled “Do my boobs make my eyes look blue?” Instant classic!

There's more, and in the end Maci admits she may piss off people who disagree with her, but she's just there to "help and entertain."

Do you agree with some or all of her points? Are you guilty of a few yourself?
