People’s Choice Awards: Jennifer Hudson to Be Named Favorite Humanitarian

The 2014 People's Choice Awards don't air until tomorrow night, January 8, at 9 p.m. on CBS, but we already know one winner: singer, actress, and American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson, who will receive the second annual award for Favorite Humanitarian for her work with the Julian D. King Gift Foundation.

Jennifer co-founded the organization with her sister, Julia, in honor of Julia's son, whom her ex-husband murdered in 2008, along with Jennifer and Julia's brother and mother.

The foundation was "established to provide stability, support and positive experiences for children of all backgrounds to help enable them to grow to be productive, confident, and happy adults."

"Thank you for honoring me with the Favorite Humanitarian Award. My sister, Julia, and I were raised with the belief that helping others was always very important. I am so grateful that the People's Choice Awards and Walgreens have come together in the same spirit," Jennifer stated, as The Wrap reports. "This spotlight will provide us with the opportunity to share all the amazing work being done by the Julian D. King Gift Foundation for children in the city of Chicago and around the United States."

In addition to the trophy, Jen's award comes with $100,000 for the foundation, and users of the Walgreens mobile app will be able to help double that amount by clicking the People's Choice icon. You have your orders, people!
