After days of almost radio silence on social media, Ariana is finally responding to Perez’s Twitter tirade — albeit indirectly.
“Arianators, I know u don't like when ppl say bad things about me but please don't wish negativity upon any1. don't give up ur light, I <3 u,” she tweeted on February 20.
However, the singer’s lawyers are taking a little less subtle route: They’re reportedly gearing up to file a lawsuit against the gossip blogger, suing him for slander. Only time will tell if the two will actually face off in court.
Stay tuned for more updates as they come!
Original story (2/20/2014):
Oh dear. Earlier this week, we told you about gossip blogger Perez Hilton taking his frustration with pop star Ariana Grande’s fans out on her on Twitter. Well, now Perez has taken his social media campaign to the next level by implying that clean-cut Ariana has a secret drug problem!
To jog your memories, Perez’s issues with the 20-year-old rising star stem from the fact that her more aggressive social media followers lashed out at him after he criticized her appearance at the 2014 Grammys last month. According to Perez, the “Arianators” took things a bit too far when they attacked his young son.
It’s Perez’s opinion that Ariana should shut down her Twitter fans and stop them from continuing to troll him online. Because she has yet to speak out or respond to him, she’s “disgusting,” he says. And since that didn’t work, Perez is taking the “start a rumor” approach to get her talking.
“@NickelodeonTV If it's true that @ArianaGrande has a drug problem, hopefully you guys can help her before it's too severe!” he writes. Perez then continues, “@ArianaGrande Are you okay? I heard someone saw you doing cocaine at a party this weekend. Stay away from drugs, Ariana!!!”
We shouldn’t be surprised that someone with his track record would resort to these measures, but we still feel pretty icky about it all. But they are both adults, so hopefully they can work things out as such.
