The Voice 2014: Best Performances From the Blind Auditions — February 24, 2014

Our favorite music competition, The Voice, is back again with a new pool of talent from across the country, and of course they didn’t fail to impress us last night. But as always, there are quite a few who stood out from the rest and can possibly become game changers this season.

First is 19-year-old Christina Grimmie, whose performance of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” garnered a four-chair turn. While this gal’s vocals did much to impress the judges, we were just as impressed by the dynamic duo that is Dawn & Hawkes. Their indie take on The Beatles’ “I’ve Just Seen a Face,” definitely gave us goosebumps and we have a feeling these two can take it all the way to the Top 12.

Other notables definitely include R&B singer T.J. Wilkins with his soulful rendition of “Bennie & the Jets” by Elton John, as well as returning singer Jake Worthington, who was able to control his breathing enough to give a smooth performance of “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley.

However, we had to give the performance of the night to 17-year-old Virginia native Bria Kelly, who showed that not only did she have soul, but a set of pipes beyond her years. All four coaches gave this gal a standing ovation and we have to admit, we did too.
