Dean Unglert on Why Rachel Lindsay Doesn’t Want Peter Kraus For ‘Bachelor’ 2018
There were many uncomfortable moments between Rachel Lindsay and Peter Kraus on Bachelorette 2017 After the Final Rose, but none so awkward as when the Dallas gal told her runner-up he shouldn’t be the next Bachelor 2018 star.
But if Rachel says she has moved on from the Wisconsin hunk, why would she care if he became the Season 22 lead?
That’s been the question on everyone’s mind since ATFR, and even afterwards during her press tour with new fiancé Bryan Abasolo.
She also clarified that by saying the process of the show is “not for him,” she wasn’t just referring to Bachelor.
“I [wasn't just] talking about [being the] Bachelor,” she said last week.
“You have to take a leap of faith, and I struggled with that, and I thought Peter and I had that similarity.”
Though the 26-year-old wasn’t sure of what was going on behind closed doors, he did have a theory on what his ex might be thinking right now.
“[Rachel] isn’t ready to see [Peter] thrust back into the spotlight like that,” the Bachelor in Paradise 4 star reasoned.
Ben and Ashley then probed him if he thought it might be because of jealousy on her end, and he wasn’t able to say for sure.
“I’ve had my jealous moments as well, so it’s really hard to say,” the Colorado hunk stated.
“But she was so close to both Bryan and Peter and Eric [Bigger] obviously too. I definitely understand that she doesn’t want to relive any of their romantic moments within an entire season.”
This interview also came after the attorney had expressed her interest in seeing early-eliminated contestant Alex Bordyukov as the next Bachelor star.
Dean, who is friends with Alex, mused that with that pick, “she’s trying to throw everyone off.”
He continued, “I mean, obviously she was close with Alex, but I don’t think the emotions were quite as strong with him as they were with the last two guys she had.”
Unfortunately, Alex has no interest in the role, and as of the moment, Peter is still the popular choice.
Twitter has been outspoken in their choice of the 31-year-old as Nick Viall’s successor. In fact, one fan’s comment on the situation even had the Bachelorette chiming in late last week.
In response to an article about Rachel and Bryan’s love, the fan wrote, “And now let's move on to Peter as the bachelor please.”

“Then do just that and move on,” the Texas gal fired back, alongside peace sign and waving emojis.

To her credit, Rach has been dealing with a lot of criticism over her relationship in the last week — not unlike former Bachelorette 2015 star Kaitlyn Bristowe.
According to Twitter, the two women recently commiserated over their situations — Kait caught a lot of flak for choosing Shawn Booth over Nick Viall at the end of her season.
“Shout out to @kaitlynbristowe for getting my mind right and giving me the best advice!!!” the brunette beauty shouted out.

Despite the social media drama, the future Mr. and Mrs. Abasolo seem more in love than ever, celebrating with an engagement party in her Dallas hometown this weekend.
“My world,” the chiropractor captioned a shot of the two at the bash. “@therachlindsay #brachel #engagementparty #dallas #bachelorette #bachelornation.”
