Peter Thomas and Cynthia Bailey Offer Reward to Locate Atlanta Shooter

Cynthia Bailey and her husband are doing their part to help put a gunman behind bars. According to Atlanta Access, The Real Housewives of Atlanta couple has offered to double a reward from Crime Stoppers after a guy shot a police officer in the leg and face.

The shooting happened only a few minutes from Peter's business, Bar One Tapas Lounge. Luckily, the cop survived the attack and is currently recovering from the multiple shots. But, the shooter got away.

Crime Stoppers Atlanta has offered a $5,000 reward to anyone who can hand over the man, and Peter and Cynthia have promised to double the number by matching the dollar amount.

“This is a challenge to business owners,” Peter said. “They should match my $5,000 to get this cop killer off the street."

Peter went on to argue that the people of Atlanta should protect the police as much as the police protect them.

“I wouldn’t want to hear that somebody who was trying to protect us was shot,” he said. “If this person will shoot a policeman, he’ll shoot anybody.”

This isn't the first time that there's been crossfire in Bar One's neighborhood. Back in 2009, a bartender was shot and killed less than a mile away from Peter's establishment. In the end, that gunman was caught and arrested, after the community raised money for a $50,000 reward.

“Not a day goes by when we’re closing the bar that I don’t think about that,” Peter told Access Atlanta. “The reason they arrested that guy had a lot to do with the reward.”

We hope that this guy is caught sooner rather than later!

Are you surprised that there was a shooting so close to Peter's place? Sound off below!
