Peter Thomas Says RHoA Ratings Are Up Because the “Men Have a Voice”

Some have argued that Real Housewives of Atlanta has gotten a little “messy” in its over-the-top drama this year, but the fact is, it’s killing it in the ratings. The reality show is breaking records on Bravo, and with the amount of buzz that surrounds these women, it’s no surprise. But Cynthia Bailey’s husband Peter Thomas has another theory as to why the show is peaking in its sixth season: the Househusbands.

Peter has come under fire a lot recently — both with the other Housewives and fans of the show — for getting involved in the women’s drama. His wife’s bestie NeNe Leakes has called him a “b—,” after he told her off for her behavior toward Kenya Moore at the Saving Our Daughters gala. And Twitter fans were up-in-arms on Sunday when he met with Porsha Williams’s ex Kordell Stewart behind her back to “get his side” on their divorce.

But Peter feels that now that he and his fellow Househusbands — Todd Tucker, Gregg Leakes, Apollo Nida — have gotten involved in the goings-on, the show is more watchable than ever.

“The fact is that now the men on the show have a voice, one million people is watching the show than last year, that equal $$$$$ #holdontothat,” Peter tweeted to followers this week.

While we can agree that the men have added an interesting dynamic to the drama, both with Apollo and Kenya’s ongoing sext-gate and Todd’s facing off with Mama Joyce, this show is ultimately called Real Housewives. We can hear a little from the men, from time to time, but women should be the focus of the show. Period.

Do you agree that Peter and the Househusbands deserve credit for the high ratings? Tell us in the comments below.
