Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, and More Will Perform at This Year’s NBA All-Star Game

Pharrell is adding more to the publicity blitz leading up to the Oscars (he’s nominated for Best Song for “Happy”), and we couldn’t be “happy”-er about it! The Grammy-winning singer/producer just performed at the Grammys, will hit the stage at this year’s Academy Awards, and now it has been announced as the opener for this year’s much-hyped NBA All-Star Game on February 16.

The annual exhibition brings in a bunch of famous faces to play some friendly games of basketball, and this year we will be greeted with Pharrell’s friendly face first as he performs some of his hits during player introductions. Not a bad walk out song, if you ask us!

And the fun doesn’t stop at Pharrell. The hit-maker will be joined down in New Orleans by hot commodity Kendrick Lamar, songstress Janelle Monáe, and the legendary R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire. What basketball game? This sounds more like a (killer) concert!

The weekend’s festivities begin with the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, February 14, where celebs like comedian Kevin Hart, America’s Got Talent’s Nick Cannon, Grey’s Anatomy actor Jesse Williams, and Fruitvale Station’s Michael B. Jordan will hash it out on the court.

Things wrap up on Sunday, when the pros will take the court for the main event.

The NBA All-Star 63rd NBA All-Star Game airs on TNT and ESPN Radio at 8 p.m. ET.
