The Poodle Cat: You Have To See It To Believe It

This curly coat belongs to the Selkirk Rex cat, more commonly known as the poodle cat. No, there were no poodles involved in the creation of this feline, but there is a harmless and natural mutation to blame. This breed was created by accident when a single gene arose in a single kitten of a litter born in 1987. Since then, the Selkirk Rex has been bred with Persians for an undeniably thick coat of curly fur.
