The world almost lost one of its fiercest pop stars! Speaking at the Delete Bone Cancer Gala on May 7, this London-born star opened up about the experience that nearly killed her as a teenager.
“I had a stroke when I was 18,” she told the crowd in New York City. “I appreciate every day that I am able to live my dream.”
Now 26, she’s made a name for herself writing for artists like Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown. She’s also famous for her own work as a singer whose latest album is appropriately titled Alive.
You might have seen her bringing the house down during the 2012 Olympics hosted on her native English soil. Earlier that same year, she celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee with a duet with will.i.am. Talk about living your dreams!
