We meet, the other new Housewife, Porsha, when she lunches with Kenya Moore to ask her to host her charity's event, the Hosea Williams Foundation. FYI, Porsha is the iconic civil rights' leader's granddaughter.
In between the details, however, Porsha's trying to find out some more personal deets about Kenya, like her past and present marital status and her plans for children. Personally, Porsha wants to be done having kids (preferably twins to avoid multiple pregnancies) by the time she's 35. Obviously, Kenya instantly hates her.
We're still on the fence. Porsha appears friendly enough and we like the charity stuff and all, but how do we say this nicely? She seems silly at times. OK, she's kinda ditzy. Or maybe we're just jealous. After all, her husband, Kordell (a former NFL-er), adores her and makes sure she doesn't have to sweep or vacuum or anything like that. She's just free to hang out with her other rich, non-working ladies, enjoy some lunch and general tomfoolery, then go back home to her man. Also, like, she totally talks, like, like this! Like, it's so annoying!
The night of the event, things get off to a rocky start when Porsha mistakenly calls Kenya Miss America instead of Miss U.S.A. The disgrace! Kenya likens the error to someone calling Michelle Obama the First Lady of Zimbabwe. Right, that's the same thing. Knock yourselves out, head-shakers and eye-rollers.
Then, Kenya's teeth are chattering because it's freezing in the air-conditioning — you'd think she'd welcome the change from the 105 degree weather. She decides to go stand outside to wait for Miss Lawrence to get there. He arrives just as Porsha steps outside, and Kenya starts explaining how disrespectful it was for her to invite her to an event without knowing her proper title. Seriously? Before she can pull out her personal bodyguard, Porsha asks her to leave, which Kenya gladly does, calling the event, which is for children mind you, "wack."
