On this week’s February 16 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we were floored when Porsha Williams attended Kandi Burruss's auditions for A Mother's Love. We knew that she was a decent singer after she belted out a few bars from "Amazing Grace" during the Season 5 Reunion, but she really blew us away with her voice this time.
As it turns out, Porsha always had aspirations of becoming a professional singer, but her marriage to Kordell kept her from pursuing her dreams. Porsha took to her Bravo blog following this week's episode to talk about her awesome experience with Kandi and her singing past.
"I started singing when I was younger in church, took some time off, then came back and sang as an adult on my church praise team. S/O High Praise! As time moved along I started singing demo tracks for various producers and studios. I ended up getting married and ended up losing my support system that wanted to help push me into the music industry towards my musical dreams. Well long story short, now I'm on my own and ready to follow my dream!" Porsha gushed.
First, though, Porsha had to overcome her fear. Back at her church, she let her self-doubt get the best of her when she landed her first solo.
"By the time my part came up I got so nervous and scared that I just FAINTED!" Porsha admitted, adding, "Now I still get nervous, but I just try to put my heart and soul into my songs and hope that people hear more of my soul when I sing."
Porsha's new single, "Flatline," will be released in two weeks. We wish her the best!
