Celebrities Nearly Cast on ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelorette’
Chris Harrison has long teased the potential of a celebrity season of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. (Yeah, we had Charlie O’Connell and Jesse Palmer, but do they count?) But you may not know that some stars were a “yes” away from taking a televised love journey.
Just recently, an ex of Britney Spears revealed that he was a contender, but he’s not the only one…
Way before he dated Britney Spears for eight months, this film and TV producer got the call. “They asked me to do The Bachelor a bunch of years ago and it was the most awkward phone call I have ever been a part of in my entire life,” Charlie told Us Weekly. “There’s no way in hell I’m ever doing it.”
The contractor, who’s one half of HGTV’s Property Brothers, told Wetpaint about his decision to turn down The Bachelor. “I’m the type of guy that if I’m seeing somebody, I like to focus on that person,” the 37-year-old said. “I cannot imagine going out with 25 women. I’m a pretty laid-back guy, and that would overwhelm me.”
We don’t know if producers ever approached this 29-year-old country star about the gig, but People was sure campaigning! “It’s a flattering thing that People magazine came out and said, ‘He should be the next Bachelor,’ but all this touring, man… I just don’t have time to do it right now,” he told Taste of Country. “But I’ve been a bachelor for a while, so I guess I’m at least kinda good at that part of it.”
We doubt she’ll have time in her busy schedule to date two dozen lucky fellas, but this Trainwreck star got an official offer to be Bachelorette from ABC reality chief Robert Mills after she delighted fans with a guest appearance in Kaitlyn’s season. (Never forget the time she called J.J. Lane a turd.)
