If there was any doubt in your mind that Harry Styles is the sweetest, most caring individual on the planet, let it all be erased right now. When Harry was prank-called as a stunt on pal Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio show, he offered to help The 1975’s Matt Healy out in a big way, despite the fact that they’ve never met.
And to be fair, One Direction bandmate Niall Horan — who actually does know Matt — was almost the victim of their joke, but he didn’t pick up the phone. Smart guy, that Niall.
Harry’s their next call, and he answers right away, greeting Matt with a hearty “Hello, mate!” despite the fact that they’ve never actually chatted on the phone before… or in person. Typical.
Matt then tells Harry he’s trying to get in touch with Niall, explaining that it’s an emergency and he needs 5 grand… because two guys keep harassing him for money and are threatening him. Harry then lets him know they’re in Bristol… but despite the fact that he’s not close by, he still offers to help him out.
“Let me go and I’ll get my assistant to call you, and she’ll sort it out,” Harry says.
How sweet is that?! Of course Harry wouldn’t hesitate to help out a friend in need… even if he isn’t necessarily a friend. We can’t handle how much we’re in love with him.
Later, after it was revealed as a prank, Niall hit Twitter to comment on Matt’s phone call. “I had a missed call from @Truman_Black, it’s all starting to make sense now!” he tweeted. “Matty you idiot!”
No harm done, and Harry has once again proved to be amazing. Not a bad outcome of a prank call, we think.
