Kim Kardashian’s Weight Loss Strategy — How She Lost 43 Pounds
Looking at photos of the newly svelte, newly engaged Kim Kardashian, it may be hard to remember the 33-year-old was pregnant just four short months ago. In a recent interview with People magazine, Kim reminisced about her tough pregnancy and uphill battle to lose weight.
“This was the biggest challenge of my life,” she says of losing the 50 pounds she gained while pregnant, “and I still have some to go. But I feel so accomplished that I did this.”
You totally should, Kim. The starlet has already lost 43 of those 50 pounds and baby daughter North West is barely four months old!
Helping Kim lose the weight using the Atkins diet. The program focuses on swapping out carbs with proteins, a total reversal for Kim.
“My entire pregnancy I only ate carbs,” she tells People before confessing her major pregnancy craving. Ice cream and pickles? Not exactly. What this mama-to-be wanted was bread and nothing but it.
“I craved plain bread, which was odd for me,” she says. “So to cut it out completely was a challenge, but I was mentally ready for it!”
Clearly it’s working, and Kim looks happy and healthy in photos from her over-the-top proposal from Kanye West. We’d say she was glowing but that might just be the reflection off that humongous 15-carat diamond ring she’s got on her finger.
