We have Basketball Wives to thank for introducing us to the lovely and spirited Evelyn Lozada, but after five seasons on the VH1 hit is it possible that the show’s breakout star has put all of the catfighting and petty drama behind her for good? Evelyn caused quite a stir when she ditched the Basketball Wives Season 5 reunion earlier this year (she didn’t want to talk about Chad, OK guys?) but does that really mean she’s off the show for good?
We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you were holding out hope that Ev would return for a sixth season of Basketball Wives we suggest you pray on it. Really hard. The 38-year-old beauty is currently pregnant with baseball player Carl Crawford’s baby, and she’s even relocated from Florida to Arizona to be closer to her L.A. Dodger.
When Evelyn sat down with omg! INSIDER for her first interview after revealing her surprise pregnancy, she got us even more worried about her future on the show. “I decided not to do the reunion and then right after that is when I found out that I was pregnant … I just decided I’m not going to do anything, I’m just going to stand still and enjoy this pregnancy.”
Not only is Ev’s own future on the show up in the air, but she wasn’t even sure that Basketball Wives would live to see a Season 6. “I don’t even know if there’s going to be another season,” she revealed as our jaws dropped to the floor. “I know that I signed on to do five seasons and I did five seasons. It’s one of those things, the show ended a few months ago and we’ll see what happens.”
And Evelyn once again notes that with her pregnancy and a baby arriving in March, she may not even have the time or energy to do another season. “For me personally I just want to focus on the rest of my pregnancy and the baby, which I am so excited about.”
Evelyn hasn’t made any final decisions yet, but it certainly sounds like she’s ready to move on!
