Lea tweeted what seemed like a major Fourth of July announcement today — and you can see the captured tweet here at MTV. It reads, "Before this gets out to the media, I would like to announce to my fans that I am pregnant. #BabyBoy"
Lea's rep debunked the news to TMZ, Buzzfeed, and other sites. The pregnancy tweet has since been deleted from Lea’s account, but it got thousands of likes and favorites before disappearing.
At least Lea kept a sense of humor about the scary intrusion of privacy. On July 4, she tweeted, "I was HACKED! Guess @chriscolfer and I should have known better then to make our passwords the names of our cats:)"
Ha! She jokes, but apparently we have a serious Glee hacker on the loose. Just yesterday, on July 3, Chris Colfer's account tweeted, “Due to personal issues, I have been let go from the cast of GLEE. Explanations will come shortly…” It was quickly revealed to be fake. FOX released a statement reading,“We’ve been alerted that Chris Colfer’s Twitter account has been hacked. Rumors of his dismissal from Glee could not be further from the truth. We love Chris and look forward to working with him again this season.”
The real question is — who is doing this? How? Why? Just for poops and giggles? Will another Glee star be next?
