Update (March 13, 2014):
Now we’re getting news straight from the horse’s mouth. Scarlett Johansson herself says there won’t be any delay to the Avengers 2 filming despite her advanced pregnancy.
“Everything for Avengers 2, we’re full steam ahead,” she told Huffington Post. “We start shooting in three weeks and I’m stunt training and we’re good to go.”
She adds “everything is exactly on schedule"” and “the Black Widow always wins and will continue to.” Win, sure. Hide a baby bump, seems less likely.
Original story (March 4, 2014):
We like to think somewhere in Hollywood there’s a little padded cell room where executives go to scream their feelings every time one of their lead stars gets knocked up unexpectedly. It’s there you’ll likely find the money behind Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. The much-anticipated sequel to the blockbuster hit stars one Scarlett Johansson who, as of yesterday, announced she’s pregnant.
And not just barely pregnant, mind you. Nope, Scarlett’s a reported five months along! Read: Black Widow’s tight leather costume ain’t going to hide this belly.
To complicate matters even further the movie is already filming with ScarJo set to start appearing on set April 5, as soon as her Captain America: The Winter Soldier promo tour duties are completed. April. Yeah, we don’t foresee revealing black outfits in Scarlett’s future anytime soon.
While neither Marvel Studios nor distributor Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures have officially said Avengers 2 has been rescheduled or if Scarlett’s role has been altered in any way, sources tell E! News the switcheroo update is imminent.
“They’re going to fast-track her scenes,” an insider tells the site. We also think a title change for the movie is in order. Perhaps Avengers 2: The Race Against the Baby Bump.
