Everyone knows that the Liars are the real OTP (4TP?) of Pretty Little Liars. Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Aria (Lucy Hale) would do anything for one another. They are the most important people in one another’s lives. This fact has remained the one constant throughout this roller coaster ride of a series — including this summer season. Here are the best Pretty Little Liars friendship moments from Season 6 so far.

“Let’s all stick together.” “Always.” The Liars reaffirm their vow to another in the Season 6 premiere when they are re-entering the Dollhouse after having spent some time hanging outside, but still inside of the compound’s electric fence. This is basically the foundational theme of this show right here, and we are so here for it. #SquadGoals

NEWS: 5 Characters We're Pretty Sure Aren't "A" on PLL

“My friends have always been my rock. Without them, I am lost in the woods, totally alone.” The central dynamic on PLL might be the one between the four PLLs, but Alison is still very much a part of the friend-group. Though her own relationship to Spencer, Hanna, Emily, and Aria is understandably complicated, she has proven that she will do anything to help them. In the Season 6 premiere, she decides to use herself as bait to help save her friends from “A”’s clutches and delivers the above line, melting our PLL-loving hearts.

When Hanna defended Mona to Lesli. Another tangential PLL relationship is the one between Hanna and Mona. They started the show as best friends — Mona was there for Hanna in a way the other Liars were not in the year following Ali’s initial disappearance. Then, Mona betrayed her as “A.” Mona has done a lot to try to make that perhaps unforgivable offense up to her former BFF and, after many seasons, the two seem to be friends again. One of our favorite friendship moments of the season came when Hanna demonstrated her loyalty to her friend by defending her to an angry Lesli. No one slanders Hanna’s friends in front of her and gets away with it.

NEWS: Is Rhys Matthews a DiLaurentis on PLL?

“OK, Spencer, not all of them. That’s my dinner.” Not all friendship moments are admissions of love and support, and PLL understands that. Some of our favorite PLL friend moments have come in the lighter exchanges,  like the one that came when Hanna offered Spencer some of her snack — but not all of it. Only good friends snap at one another like this.

“I didn’t let Hanna perform surgery on me for nothing.” In a recent episode, the Liars performed amatuer surgery on one another to get “A”’s microchips out of their necks. It’s OK — they watched some YouTube videos first! Moving right past the discussion of whether this was a terrible idea or not (it was), it takes a special kind of trust to let someone cut into your neck.

Aria asking Emily to be her prom date. Our hearts totally melted in the most recent episode when Aria asked Emily if she would like to be her friend-date to the prom. Emily declined, admitting that she wanted to ask Sara to go with her, but we love how this whole scene went down. Aria was happy for her friend, and eager to hear more of the details. Then, Em teased Aria about her fashion sense and it was adorable.

The Liars supporting Aria at her art show. Though PLL might not make a big deal out of little things like the Liars all showing up at Aria’s art show to support their BFF, we totally notice them. It’s not even a question of whether Emily, Spencer, and Hanna will be there. They will be. Regardless of how this night turned out, that means so much. On a television landscape where so much of teen-geared drama is about romance at the cost of female friendship, it is so important to see friends like these.
