Pretty Little Liars Star Shay Mitchell Debuts a Faux Bob — How To Get Her Chic ‘Do!

Looking for a fun, new look for all of the holidays without the commitment of a new cut? Well, look no further than the faux bob Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell (Emily Fields) was rocking last week!

We love her long locks, but we couldn’t help but adore her shorter faux ‘do, too. How can you get the look without losing your length for good? Beauty High recently chatted with Shay’s stylist for the deets.

Shay’s recent Instagram showing off her seemingly short-haired look had fans gasping but, if you looked closely at her caption, “Short hair don't care … #justkiddingstillhavelonghair,” then you’d know this was just the work of hairstylist Daven. (Sneaky, Shay!)

Here are his instructions on how to best get Shay’s look:

“Begin by curling sections of hair with a 3/4 inch barrel curling iron, leaving the ends straight for an undone feel. Curl sections away from the face and allow them to cool before raking them with your fingers to add separation to the style. Start taking large sections and create pin curls with them on the underside of the nape of your neck. Allow the shorter ends to hang out to create the faux bob look at whatever length you want. Secure sections into place with bobby pins and spray hair into place to hold the style!”

Voila! We loved how Shay’s faux bob managed to look both classy and casual. We’ll probably be trying this ‘do out soon… and wonder if Shay’s on-screen counterpart, Emily, might consider mixing it up in Season 4B, too?

What do you think of Shay’s faux bob? Do you prefer her with long hair or short? Sound off in the comments below!
