Director Wendy Stanzler just tweeted a pic from the Ravenswood set that has us sufficiently intrigued. The shot is of the sign for the Ravenswood Post Office, and Wendy describes it as, “A final image from a place you will love.” What is so awesome about the Ravenswood Post Office? And what does this tell us about the spin-off series in general?
Sure, post offices are great, but they’re rarely the coolest place in town to hang. What makes the Ravenswood Post Office different? Well, we know that the town suffers from some kind of generations-long curse. Could the inhabitants of this town be stuck there, making the post office an important connection to the outside world (maybe they haven’t figured out Skype yet)? It’s hard to imagine a PLL spin-off in which cell phones don’t play a vital role, but maybe the Powers That Be are going old-school with this one.
We also know that five strangers will be exploring the town’s history before it is too late. This is not only ominous, but implies the past will be incredibly important in Ravenswood. Post offices are often one of the oldest buildings and establishments in small town America. Could the Ravenswood Post Office play a central part in the curse and/or tie the past generations of Ravenswood to the current ones? This wouldn’t exactly make us love the place (especially if it is Spook Central), but it would make it the most important building in Ravenswood.
What do you think Wendy is hinting at in her tweet? Why will we love the Ravenswood Post Office? Let us know in the comments below!
