Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson) has been around since Pretty Little Liars day one, but has his stint as Rosewood’s creepiest cop come to a rather embarrassing end? Here are three reason we think a dead Wilden is the grisly sight waiting for the Liars in the trunk of his own cop car.

Old Cop, New Cop

PLL has always had a few cop characters around to bully the Liars and for our Liars to mistrust in return, but this is not a show about cops. Which is why the introduction of not one, but two new cop characters in Season 4 raises some red flags. Officer Garrett was murdered in the Season 3 Halloween episode. If Wilden also ends up dead in the Season 4 premiere, there is going to be a distinctive lack of Rosewood officers to not protect the Liars. And we can’t have that!

State Police

Did we mention that the new cops are state police officers? Because they are. Which means the state of Pennsylvania has finally caught onto the fact that something is rotten in the town of Rosewood. If the first few murders didn’t warrant the involvement of state police, we think the murder of a second cop might do the trick. We look forward to future seasons when the hot new FBI agents roll into Rosewood.

Funeral Attendance

We’re assuming that the funeral seen in the promo pics belongs to the poor schmuck found in Wilden’s trunk and Rosewood is not just having a multi-murder week. Going by the cast of characters seen donning the black at Rosewood’s church, we think Wilden is the likely victim. Jenna attends on the arm of a mystery man. We know from the police car video that it was Jenna and Shana who helped Wilden after he was hit by Ashley Marin’s car, which means she knew him and very well might attend his funeral. As for the mystery man, Nigel (whose last name suspiciously hasn’t been released), we think he bears some resemblance to our Detective Wilden.
