The end of Pretty Little Liars Season 3 suffered from a serious Toby/Keegan Allen drought. The gap between when Spence confronted Toby about his “A” Team membership and when he reappeared in the Season 3 finale was much too unbearable. We don’t like to go that long without seeing Pretty Eyes! Can we expect any Toby-less episodes in the rest of Season 4?
According to PLL writer Jonell Lennon’s recent tweet, Keegan will not be appearing in next week's episode (Season 4, Episode 9: “Into the Deep"). Lame. But he will be back in Season 4, Episode 10: “The Mirror Has Three Faces,” so at least we aren’t looking at another string of Toby-less episodes. On a happier note, Ezra (Ian Harding) will be in the episode, so at least there’s that to look forward to.
Season 4 is shaping up to be a big season for Toby. Keegan recently said we would be learning about some “really insane secrets” involving Toby’s past. That all started with a Toby flashback in the premiere, and Spence has helped him deal with his past — specifically involving his mom's "suicide" — so we don’t want Toby running off anywhere too long. It makes us nervous. Plus, when he teamed up with Caleb, they had a great bromance and uncovered some new clues. We need him around.
