Keegan Allen (Toby) is swapping the television set for the stage (at least temporarily). The Pretty Little Liars actor is set to star in an Off Broadway production of Small Engine Repair this fall in New York City, reports Entertainment Weekly. We couldn’t be more excited for Pretty Eyes!

Keegan has been cast as Chad, a privileged jock who turns up at an out-of-the-way repair shop, stirring much resentment in the three former high schools buddies who frequent the establishment. Though the play premiered two years ago in Los Angeles, this MCC Theater production will mark its New York premiere. Co-starring in the project will be James Badge Dale, James Ransone, and John Pollono (who also penned the script). Previews for the play will begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in Greenwich Village on Oct. 30, with the official opening coming on Nov. 18.

We’re really impressed with the way Keegan is taking risks as a performer. It would be easy to rest on his PLL laurels, or to find similar roles, but he’s trying something different and quite challenging with live theater. We wish Keegan the best of luck!
