Chad Lowe (Byron Montgomery) is in the Pretty Little Liars director’s chair again! The actor/director will be helming the show’s winter premiere (Season 4, Episode 14), an episode PLL showrunner Marlene King called “phenomenal” at the table read. No pressure, Chad! But don’t screw this up. Winter premieres are important.

Okay, fine. We’re pretty sure Chad knows what he’s doing. This is the seventh episode of PLL he’s directed. His most recent directorial turn is yet to air: the upcoming Season 4, Episode 9: “Into the Deep,” but previous eps have all been top-notch. And the PLL Powers That Be must have some serious faith in Chad to give him such an important episode. Writer Joseph Dougherty is certainly excited about it.

“Shooting #PLL 414, the winter premiere, with @ichadlowe in the director's chair, and having a grand time,” Joseph tweeted yesterday, cluing us in to Chad’s important role in the episode.

As much as we love Chad as director, we have to admit we’d like to see a little bit more Chad as actor. Byron popped up recently to persuade Ella to take off to Europe, but his role has been relatively small considering this seems to be the season of taking out parents. On second thought, maybe it’s better if he stays off-camera...
