We have our reasons for wanting to watch Ravenswood, Pretty Little Liarssupernatural spin-off: something to do over the PLL hiatus, more Tyler Blackburn (Caleb), a new television mystery to obsess over, etc. But what are the PLL Powers’ That Be reasons for wanting to make another television show so much like their first?

“So many stories to tell,” PLL showrunner Marlene King tweeted yesterday in response to a fan question her reasons for creating the PLL spin-off, which we can understand. Marlene really seems to enjoy her job as PLL’s showrunner, and she is awesome at it. Now that she has more than three seasons of PLL under her belt, we can understand wanting to expand her opportunity for storytelling.

With Ravenswood, Marlene will get to work with many of the same people to explore the same sort of storytelling she does on PLL, but in a slightly different way. Ravenswood will allow her to create a suspenseful, spooky story that - because of its supernatural nature - is unbound by some limits of realism that PLL is. We’re both terrified and excited to see what Marlene can create when she has the supernatural on her side.

Do you think Ravenswood is a good idea? How do you think it will differ from PLL? Sound off in the comments below!
