Things got all connect-y last night on Pretty Little Liars (Season 4, Episode 8: “The Guilty Girl’s Handbook”) with the hint that the alleged suicide of Toby’s mom may have been connected to Wilden’s murder. This makes the mystery of Marion Cavanaugh’s death even more important. Was Marion killed?! And, if so, whodunnit?

Detective Wilden

The possibility that it was Detective Wilden who killed Toby’s mom seems very possible after last night’s reveal that Wilden changed the official police report of the incident to say that Marion jumped from the window rather than the roof. Suspicious. Why would Wilden do something like this unless he had something to hide? Like murder!

Eddie Lamb

Of course, another possibility is that Nurse Eddie Lamb was lying in the initial report that claims Marion was found from the roof, not the window. We want to trust Eddie he has trusting eyes but we don’t know much about him. Sure, he was nice to Spencer when she was in Radley, but he was also nice to Mona. We’re not ready to take Eddie off of our list of suspects just yet. Not when he was potentially the first to “arrive” at the scene of the crime.

Cece Drake

Even though we haven’t seen Cece recently in person, her fingerprints have been all over this season. Should we add murder to her list of possible indiscretions? We know that Cece had a visitor’s badge to get into Radley to visit Mona, but what if she came before that, too? Could Cece have been “the blonde girl” Dr. Palmer warned Toby’ mom to stay away from? We’re not sure why Cece would want to kill Marion, but there’s a lot about that girl we don’t get. And we definitely don’t trust her.

Alison or Courtney

If Cece wasn’t the blonde girl who hung out with Marion, then could it have been Alison DiLaurentis or her possible twin sister, Courtney? In the books, both of them spent time at Radley (though, in Ali’s case, everyone thought she was Courtney). Either girl would have had opportunity and, if Ali/Courtney spent so much time with Marion, there could have been motive. Did Marion find out something about Ali/Courtney that she didn’t want anyone else to discover? Was Marion killed to keep her quiet?

She killed herself

Marion’s death was ruled as a suicide and it’s not completely out of the question that Marion took her own life. It’s hard to imagine PLL would introduce this storyline if there wasn’t more to it, but you never know. Even if Marion did kill herself, that doesn’t mean there isn’t more to the story. Did someone drive Marion to suicide? Perhaps one of our suspects above? Whatever happened, we/Toby deserve the truth!
