If you watched tonight’s Pretty Little Liars Season 4, Episode 11: "Bring Down the Hoe" — it seems pretty clear that CeCe Drake (Vanessa Ray) might just be Red Coat. After all, we saw the devious blonde with a red coat. But does the fact that Cece is in possession of a red coat really mean that she is THE Red Coat?
Let’s be real, guys: This is Pretty Little Liars. The show loves to toss out red herrings to make you think one thing, then totally twist it around on you episodes later. Nothing is certain, but we’re willing to bet that CeCe isn’t the real Red Coat.
First of all, we’ve heard it confirmed from multiple sources that we won’t learn Red Coat’s true identity until the Season 4 Halloween episode this October. So if it appears in Episode 11 that CeCe is Red Coat, that in itself is most certainly proof that she’s actually not.
That said, it’s pretty clear from everything that went down in this episode that CeCe is a member of the “A” team. (Not “A” herself. She doesn’t appear to be the one calling the shots.) But it definitely seems like she’s working with Red Coat. In fact, when she was on the phone saying that she didn’t want to go back to Rosewood — just who, exactly, was on the other end of the line, commanding her to go, anyway? Could it have been our favorite scarlet-cloaked mysterious villain?
Whatever the case, we saw CeCe creepily listening in at Ezra’s (Ian Harding) apartment as he finally ‘fessed up to Aria (Lucy Hale) about the fact that Maggie is taking Malcolm away from him. It seems clear that CeCe is making it her mission to get involved in the Little Liars’ lives. Now our main questions are: why — and to what devious end?
