The Liars exist in a heightened universe. Murder, stalkers, big bad secrets — Rosewood ain't your normal small town, and that's part of the fun. Even with that in mind, there are occasionally moments on Pretty Little Liars that make us stop and say, "Really?" Sometimes it's something that doesn't make sense from the writers, and, more often, it's just that we want to reach through our TVs and smack the characters upside the head for making bad choices.
Here are our picks of the biggest logic fails and most WTF moments from Season 4, Episode 11: "Bring Down the Hoe."
Pitchforking "A". Dear Emily, we hate Red Coat as much as the next person, but maybe attempting to stab him or her with a hoe isn't the best call. If you'd succeeded, you would have actually been guilty of assault and/or murder. Not to mention, the real crime of this scene was watching as Emily and Spencer spent way too much time trying to find — and start! — a car when they really should have chased after Red Coat on foot.
Conveniently located keys. A) Spencer and Emily just go up to a random guy and ask to borrow his truck, as if that is a reasonable request. B) When he refuses, they sneak into his truck and discover the keys are conveniently in the car?! We know this is a TV show, but the writers are making things a bit too easy for them.
Oh, Toby. We realize that Toby is very, very emotional about his mom but seriously, he didn't take any precautions while following "A"'s clues? Toby, you know better.
They all dance together! Um, why did everyone suddenly know the same country line dance? We loved that scene, but Rosewood doesn't strike us as a hotbed of line dancing.
Emily just remembers Ali had a gun pulled on her now? Like, isn't that the kind of thing that would stick out in her mind more? It's never come up before? Really?
