Pretty Little Liars boss Marlene King is the queen of teasing big reveals vaguely. Earlier this summer, she promised answers for some of PLL fans’ biggest questions — including if Alison DiLaurentis is alive.
Now that the Season 4 summer finale (Episode 12: “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t”) is less than a week away (Aug. 27), time is running out for the big reveAl, and Marlene reminded us of that today. When a fan asked if we’ll be seeing more of Ali in next week’s season ender, she replied, “There is a huge Ali reveal in the summer finale. I promised you answers.”
But wait, there’s more!
In the Aug. 26 issue of TV Guide Magazine, Marlene dished that there’s a game-changing reveal about the night that Alison disappeared. “So many things happen!” she exclaimed, noting that after the episode “blows up social media,” it will leave people “emotionally exhausted.” Color us nervous.
However, it’s not all bad news for the Liars. Though it will take them a while for them to “figure out what the game is” during their Ravenswood hunt, romantically, things are mostly good. Ezra and Aria will have a development that a “portion” of fans will be happy about, Spencer and Toby will be “very much together,” and Emily will continue her “emotional journey” — sadly, with or without Paige by her side. On a less exciting note, this episode is the beginning of Hanna and Caleb’s transition, working toward when he departs for spin-off Ravenswood this fall.
We don’t know what to think, but we definitely want answers. Do you think Marlene will give us intel about Ali, or is it all a huge bluff? Sound off below!
