Pretty Little Liarsspooky Season 4 Halloween special airs on October 22, and it will pick up right where the summer finale left off with the Liars headed to a Ravenswood town party in hopes of finding Ali, (Sasha Pieterse), who they now have very strong reason to believe has been alive this entire time!

That’s not all, though. The newly-revealed “A” (aka Ezra) will be right on their heels. Ian Harding (Ezra) recently spoke to TV Guide and E! Online about the sure-to-be epic episode. Here’s what he had to say.

New characters

"There are some parts that are actually legitimately scary, like really scary,” Ian told E! Online. “So we're going to get the thrills and the fashion and it's going blow people's minds. And we're introducing new characters and all that so it'll be fun."

Are the new characters Ian refers to all Ravenswood cast members? PLL’s supernatural spin-off will be premiering directly after the Halloween episode, with the PLL special introducing many of its main cast members. It would be a lot to include new PLL characters in that mix, too, but you never know!

Ian also confirmed that Ezra will be in Ravenswood in the episode, though “to what extent will be shrouded in mystery.” Well, given that he’s hanging with the Liars in the Halloween ep promo, we’re guessing he’s going to spin some story that keeps him close to our girls. We’re not sure to what extent this creeps us out.

Horror over Hitchcock

Ian told TV Guide that this year’s Halloween special will differ tonally from Season 3’s contribution: "The last Halloween episode was more Hitchcockian. This is going to play like a horror movie,” Ian said, adding about “A”’s plans for the Liars: "It's downright scary." What we’re getting from this is that the Season 4 Halloween ep will be less suspense and more straight-up horror. Yikes! We know that the “Ezra is ‘A’” reveal will take awhile to play out for the Liars, but that doesn’t mean we viewers can’t be suitably creeped out in the meantime. Dramatic irony is a bitch.
