Pretty Little Liars has been hinting that Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) is alive for a while now, and the Season 4 summer finale (Season 4, Episode 12: “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t”) seemed to confirm that theory, with Carla Grunwald providing a plausible explanation for how Ali survived. However, we haven't seen definitive proof that Ali is indeed alive — we'll have to wait for the Halloween episode to know for sure.

So, our question for you guys: Do you think Ali really is alive?

All of the clues in the show point to a big ol' yes, and actress Sasha Pieterse is certainly playing into the idea that what we learned in the finale is true, hinting that she'll be around more in the second half of the season, and saying that we'd get "a peek" of the truth in the summer finale. That certainly suggests that Ali is alive, since the finale hit home the idea that Ali is alive and in hiding from "A."

That said, this is Pretty Little Liars, and as much as we want to believe Ali is alive — because we think it would be awesome to have her running around Rosewood in the present — we know we can't take all these clues at face value. All signs point to "alive," which makes us wonder if the writers (and actors) are purposefully leading us to that conclusion, only to pull the rug out from under us at Halloween with some sort of definitive proof that she actually is dead.

What do you think: Is Ali clearly alive, or do you think the writers are just messing with us?
