While we’re toiling away with no new Pretty Little Liars episodes for another six weeks, the cast and crew is busy making new eps. Joseph Dougherty just finished writing the script for Season 4, Episode 19, and is really excited about it. What is the ep called, and which shippers will be happy with its sceneage?

Joseph tweeted a picture of the script cover for Episode 19, revealing that the ep will be called "Shadow Play.” Hmm...our first association is with shadow puppetry, which makes some sense given that PLL has played with the puppetry motif before. Are the Liars moving from magic shows to puppet shows in the winter season?

Our Google research also turns up a 1979 Joy Division song (covered by The Killers in 2007) and an episode of The Twilight Zone with the same title. The Twilight Zone ep tells the story of a man convicted of murder and sentenced to death who is unable to convince the world around him that they are all living in a dream. Trippy, right? We could totally see it being used as an influence on a PLL ep.

Leaving the Land of Referential Speculation, Joseph confirmed that we would be getting some Spoby and Paily scenes in this episode. Huzzah! Especially because that means Paily is still together (at least literally, if not figuratively). We’ve been worried about them since their depressingly realistic heart-to-heart on Em’s birthday.

A final note: Joseph is pulling double-duty on this episode as he both wrote and will direct “Shadow Play.” (And we can’t even text and talk at the same time!) Pretty impressive stuff. Good luck, Joseph!
