Pretty Little Liars can prompt a slew of intense reactions: laughter, theorizing, tears. PLL showrunner Marlene King has a case of that last one. What Season 4B PLL episode is making her cry?
“I cried when I saw the final playback for 413 today,” Marlene tweeted yesterday. “@PLLijah wrote a beautiful script and @norbuck shot the heck out of it.” So, the Halloween episode, right? But, wait! We’re pretty sure the “413” was a typo and Marlene was actually referring to Season 4, Episode 15: “Love ShAck, Baby.”
Check out director Norman Buckley’s response to Marlene’s tweet: “@imarleneking cried at Ashley, no? So heartbreaking! Thanks for kind words. #PLL415” When a Twitter follower asked Norman to clarify if it was “413” or “415,” Norman confirmed that it was, indeed, Episode 15 they were discussing (an episode he kept social media well apprised of throughout the prepping and filming process, so we think he’d know).
So, back to the issue at hand: Hanna is making Marlene cry. We’re pretty sure Caleb makes his final appearance on Pretty Little Liars in Episode 14, so could this be referring to the aftermath of their teary goodbye? Might a Hanna breakdown happen while she’s hanging with the Liars at The Brew? We’re also getting a “Hefty Hanna” flashback in this episode. Norman posted a pic of Ashley Benson looking downright miserable as Hanna in the flashback — is this when she pulls at our heartstrings? We hate to see Hanna so sad!
