Pretty Little Liars has been chock-full of answers this season, but one of our biggest questions still remains: Is Ali DiLaurentis alive? We’ve speculated why the queen of mean may or may not be dead, but after Mrs. Grunwald’s haunting explanation of what really happened the night Ali went missing, Ali’s fate is more dubious than ever.

Thankfully, Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Sasha Pieterse (Ali) to get to the bottom of Rosewood’s biggest mystery.

“You’ll find out if [Ali is] dead or alive by the end of the Halloween episode,” Sasha told us at the Pretty Little Liars Halloween episode screening at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on October 15. But Ali isn’t the only little liar getting extra special attention in Season 4B.

“We’re finding out more about Ezra,” Sasha said. “Is he ‘A,’ is he not? There’s a lot of sad things, happy things, angry things going on with his character, and we know it will be a very intense season for him — and for my character, Spencer and Aria. There’s a lot of different craziness going on between the four of them.”

We understand why this season is going to be tough on Ezra and Aria, but what does Spencer have to do with the mayhem? It sounds like Spencer has been keeping a huge secret from the Liars — something she’s been hiding since the night Ali disappeared.

Troian Bellisario (Spencer) told us, “You get to learn the most fun secret about Spencer, and that’s why wasn’t she with the rest of the girls when they woke up and why was she awake to hear Alison scream.”

Interesting. We know Ali was afraid of Spencer because she was the only one who could out-smart her. So these two may have had a misunderstanding that night in the barn that turned into something more.

However, we won’t have to wait long to find out our answer. It sounds like we’ll learn more about Ali and her relationship with the Liars in Season 4B. In fact, we may even learn what drove her to do the crazy things she did.

“I think, honestly, she was tortured for a long time with either her personal details, her family, just the things that surround her, and I think it forced her a little bit to become a torturer,” Sasha toldWetpaint. “She’s definitely a victim in a lot of ways and I mean the second half of season four is honestly my favorite, by far, of anything we have ever done. You see that, you see a lot of different sides of Alison. Marlene [King] from the beginning of the season said this is the season of answers, and she’s exactly correct.”

Whatever happened between Spencer and Ali comes back to haunt the astute young Hastings in Season 4B. Not only will it force Spencer to have a “very Patrick Bateman moment,” but it also brings Veronica Hastings face-to-face with Jessica DiLaurentis — and the latter has definitely been hiding something.

“She’s a firecracker,” said Sasha. “I think there’s a lot that she’s hiding, a lot that she doesn’t know, a lot that she’s speculating, and you know Alison has got to get her craziness from somewhere! Jessica DiLaurentis is very manipulative, and she uses anything she can against anyone she can to get what she wants, and you see that for sure.”

Does Jessica have evidence against Spencer? Is she going to try and manipulate the Hastings? We’ll have to wait and find out, Pretty Little Liars fans!
