Is it just us or did Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King just confirm a PLL Christmas special? She’s been hinting at the possibility of one for some time now, but it seems like she’s finally made the commitment. What did she tweet to make us think it will soon be snowing in Rosewood?

“Someday I really, really want a Pretty Little Liars Christmas episode it would be the cutest thing ever please @imarleneking make it happen!” a fan tweeted Marlene’s way on October 28, voicing a sentiment we’ve had for a long time. Marlene’s reply? “Season 5.”

A-mazing! It seems like a Season 5 Christmas episode might really happen (hopefully, it doesn’t replace our beloved Halloween episode), especially given that it seems like Marlene has been thinking about this for years. In February, she told her Twitter followers that, though a Christmas episode wasn’t “in the cards” for Season 4, she had her “fingers crossed” for Season 5. And, in July, she confirmed that it would snow in Rosewood in Season 5.

Well, we have more than a year to wait, but we think it might be worth it. We can only imagine what a Yankee Swap might be like with “A” in the game. Or how dangerous all of those Christmas trees will be once “A” has loosed their holders. Basically, the holidays in Rosewood could be just as harrowing as Halloween, and we love that! (As long as we get a little mistletoe action and holiday cheer, as well.)

It's time to trade in your red coats for red hats, PLL fans!
