Feeling down about the Ezria-related implications of Pretty Little Liars most recent plot developments? No need to fear! Ezria’s number one shipper is here to reassure us. She also happens to be the creator of Pretty Little Liars, so her hope counts for more than most.

I hear your concerns,” Marlene tweeted November 1 in response to one distraught Ezria fan. “It's a long journey that we are on.  Hang in there.” We don’t know about you, but that little tweet goes a long way in reassuring us about the future romance between Ezra (Ian Harding) and Aria (Lucy Hale). More than that, it makes us excited - because the best television romances are the ones that overcome seemingly impossible obstacles, the ones that throw heartbreaking yet convincing fake outs at the dedicated viewer, and the ones that pay off in the end after having tested the limits of said television couple.

We’ve already outlined five possible ways this “Ezra is ‘A’” plot could work out for Ezria - and that made us feel better - but we also have our faith in Marlene and Co.’s storytelling abilities to see this central relationship through to the end in a satisfying manner. And, given that the end is still at least a season-and-a-half away, there’s no need to rush. In the mean time, we’ll just enjoy the dramatic roller coaster ride. Even if it includes Aria crying and screaming so much Lucy lost her voice filming. Yeah, if the Ezria storyline is a roller coaster, we have the feeling we’re currently creeping to the precipice of a rather ferocious plummet. So, hold on.
