How much do we love Pretty Little Liars Keegan Allen (Toby)? After hearing about his recent stand against social media-driven bullying, a lot and we already adored him quite a bit, so that’s saying something. Keegan talked to W Magazine about a jarring interaction he recently had with a fan, and why it drove him to “unfollow” everyone on Twitter.

In the mag, Keegan tells the story of how he recently found a young girl sobbing while leaving NYC’s Lucille Lorcel Theater where he is currently starring in his Off Broadway debut in Small Engine Repair. The reason for her tears? Keegan had started following her friends on Twitter, but not her and they told her it was because she was fat and ugly.

Keegan was so unsettled by the encounter and at the way his social media actions was used in an act of bullying that he chose to change his Twitter practices: “It troubled me so much that I just unfollowed everyone on Twitter,” Keegan said. (He now follows only 38 handles “only people he knows or admires and news outlets,” according to the magazine.) “I don’t want to be a reason for somebody else feeling inadequate. I’m not going to contribute to bullying. I told her, ‘I’m going to do this for you.’” We’re really impressed with Keegan’s choice to take action when confronted with such a complex problem. He may not be stopping bullying, but his vocalization that this is not OK, will hopefully strike some chords in those who admire him -- both the bullied and the bullies.

We’re not the only ones who think Keegan’s pretty cool. PLL co-star Troian Bellisario (Spencer) also responded to the article. She posted a link to the profile on Twitter, writing: “My friend @keeganallen in one of my favorite magazines. He also just opened his play. So proud of you Keegs.”
