Say it isn’t so, Marlene King! At this past weekend’s Keep A Secret Convention in France, fans asked the Pretty Little Liars showrunner about the rumors that Ezra (Ian Harding) might die in the Season 4B finale. What did Marlene have to say?

“Unfortunately, I cannot say anything about season five,” Marlene said, according to PrettyLittleLiars.us. “However, I can reveal to you that I cannot imagine the rest of the series without the character of Ezra.” That’s pretty much as close as Marlene gets to confirmation and denial in the spoiler department, so we think Ezra may be safe. Phew! The man may be up to something, but we’re not ready to write him off just yet.

Though just because Ezra probably won’t be killed off in Season 4B, doesn’t mean it will be smooth sailing for the English high school teacher/stalker. Not only will one of the Liars be onto him as soon as Season 4B starts (perhaps, due to that diary Hanna snatched from his lair in the summer finale?), but it’s only a matter of time before Aria (Lucy Hale) finds out. And judging from the spoiler that Lucy lost her voice while filming an emotional, screaming scene, we’re guessing it doesn’t go very well.

Also on the docket for Ezra in Season 4: some sort of storyline with Mona. We see the two together in the winter premiere promo, and executive producer Oliver Goldstick has said the two “have had an interesting relationship.” Will Mona be a friend, enemy, or something in between? If these two are in cahoots, it’s only a matter of time before someone gets hurt…
