We can’t help but feel bad for Mona (Janel Parrish) in this TV Line sneak peek for the Pretty Little Liarswinter premiere (Season 4, Episode 14: “What’s in the Box?”). In it, we see Mona trying her darndest to play BFF with Hanna (Ashley Benson) but the Liar isn’t having any of it. Read on to find out more…

The scene takes place in the halls of Rosewood High. A friendly Mona approaches Hanna at her locker to ask if she wants to go for a joy ride: “I thought you might want a ride on my new wheels a victory lap in Jenna’s Mustang. Since she won’t be needing it anymore.” So, it seems Mona has bought Jenna’s car off of the blind-again teenager. Awkward. Hanna thinks so, too...

“Kind of creepy, don’t you think?” Hanna asks Mona, and you could chill a martini with her tone.

Mona is unphased: “Creepy is as creepy does,” she says.

Hanna tells Mona she’ll think about it, but Mona is officially done trying to ignore Hanna’s sour mood toward her. She confronts her friend: “You’re shutting me out again,” Mona accuses Hanna. “I can understand the others, but not you. I thought we moved on after what I did for you.” (i.e. Mona confessed to Wilden’s murder when Hanna was planning on doing it herself to get her mother out of jail.)

“That’s just it Mona: I don’t know if you did do it for me,” Hanna tells her best frenemy before walking off. Mona glares after her and our sympathy for Mona is paired with concern for Hanna. Still, though, Hanna would do well to keep on Mona’s good side. Either the former “A” is telling the truth about wanting to help Hanna, or she is planning something devious. Either way, Hanna shouldn’t piss her off.

Do you think Mona confessed to Wilden’s murder for Hanna or did she have ulterior motives? Do you think Hanna should play nice with Mona? Sound off in the comments below!
