The Pretty Little Liars Season 4 winter premiere is still a day away, and it feels like Tuesday will never come. However, we have some good news — the official synopsis for Season 4, Episode 16, "Close Encounters" has been released, and it gives us a tantalizing glimpse of what we can expect down the line.

Here's the synopsis for Episode 16, which airs on January 21, 2014.

Shana returns to Ravenswood to tell Emily that she has a message from Ali, but can Emily and the girls trust Shana with all that they know about her? And when Shana ups the stakes and says that Ali wants to meet Emily — and only Emily — could it all be part of an “A” plan, or is Emily really Alison’s favorite? With Emily becoming more hopeful by the minute, Spencer is determined to not let her friend get hurt.

Meanwhile, Aria and Hanna deal with matters of the heart.

So. Much. To. Process. Like how about the fact that Shana claims to be carrying a message from Ali. Does that mean she knows the truth — or at least learns it over the next few episodes? And if she knows, does that mean Jenna also knows? What about Melissa, Wren, and even Mona?

We're also excited to hear about the Alison and Emily drama. We always thought Ali coming back would have a huge impact on Emily, who was, after all, in love with her. We're glad to see the show is going to really dig into that complex relationship.

As for Aria and Hanna — if Aria is dealing with a matter of the heart, does that mean she's starting to suspect Ezra? Or could this be Jake related? And what about Hanna? Is this more angst over Caleb being in Ravenswood?

We can't wait to find out!
