There isn’t exactly a manual on how to react when your allegedly deceased bestie makes a miraculous return to your life but that’s exactly what the Liars are dealing with in the Pretty Little Liars winter premiere that airs tonight. Will they be happy that Alison is alive? Read on to find out!

According to E! Online, “The Liars are definitely peeved to find out that their former best friend has been alive and kicking for the past two years. Many of them are not sure whether or not they can trust Alison's pleas for help, especially since she has been lying to them for such a long time.” We totally don’t blame them. We’re not sure if we trust Alison, either. Especially given that someone’s body has to be residing in the casket reserved for her. Could the mean girl have gone to homicidal lengths to fake her death?

This distrust of Alison leads the Liars to have some serious confusion surrounding their emotional reaction to Ali’s return. E! Online offers up Aria’s opening line as example: "We just found out that Ali is alive, she's really alive. Why am I not insanely happy?"

And Aria isn’t the only one confused. According to the official episode synopsis for Season 4, Episode 14 (“Who’s in the Box”), “Emily has trouble dealing with how she feels about Alison being alive.” That’s right: she has enough trouble that it warrants a mention in the synopsis. Might this have something to do with the romantic feelings had for her BFF before Ali died? Emily has had her heart broken not once, but twice by murder. Now, she has a second chance with one of the girls she loved and thought she had lost. Will she break up with Paige to be with Alison? It doesn’t sound like Emily’s M.O., but Emily certainly jumps to Ali’s defense quickly in this winter premiere script sneak peek. Just saying.

How do you think the Liars will react to Ali’s miraculous return? Share your theories in the comments below!
