So far, we haven't seen a whole lot of Alison (Sasha Pieterse) on the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 winter season, but that's going to change with tonight's Season 4, Episode 16 (“Close Encounters”), when Ali finally makes contact with one of the Liars.

Here's the official ABC Family synopsis of the episode:

Shana returns to Ravenswood to tell Emily that she has a message from Ali, but can Emily and the girls trust Shana with all that they know about her? And when Shana ups the stakes and says that Ali wants to meet Emily — and only Emily — could it all be part of an “A” plan, or is Emily really Alison’s favorite? With Emily becoming more hopeful by the minute, Spencer is determined to not let her friend get hurt.

Meanwhile, Aria and Hanna deal with matters of the heart.

We know we aren't the only ones waiting with bated breath to find out if Shana really has been in contact with Ali. Has she been working for Ali the whole time? If so, why? And why would Ali only want to meet with Emily? So many questions!

This is a live recap, so if you want to join us analyzing all the action in tonight's episode, keep refreshing for the latest updates. Until Season 4, Episode 16 officially starts (at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family!), speculate about what you think is going to happen!

8:01: Uh-uh, looks like Ali has run into trouble... unless this is all a set-up?

8:02: Well, "A" was definitely there. Now we're worried for Ali.

8:02: See! Hanna thinks it might have been a set-up. And she's been on point so far this season.

8:03: Oh, Emily. Haven't you learnt that bad things happen in the church? (Of course, bad things happen everywhere in Rosewood...)

8:03: Running into your dad at your boyfriend's house? Awk.

8:04: Jason fell off the wagon? Hmm. But why? Could it be because he learned something about his sister? Maybe the fact that she's not dead?

8:04: "Put some pants on. We need to talk about Radley."

8:06: Getting a text from your boyfriend while hanging out with your ex slash lover slash one true love? Also awkward?

8:07: BRB, sobbing for Hanna.

8:07: "He's moved on, so I'm moving on, too." TEARS EVERYWHERE.

8:08: Way to be creepy, Shana.

8:12: Shana claims to have grown up with Shana? What the what?

8:12: So everything between Jenna and Shana was fake? Do you buy this story?

8:13: Poor sad Toby.

8:14: Aria. What are you wearing?

8:14: If Aria doesn't want Jake, we'll take him.

8:15: Seriously though, he is so adorable.

8:15: "You're back with Ezra, aren't you?" See, he's smart, too!

8:16: If Toby signs what Spencer's dad wants him to sign, he'll get a lot of money, but he'll never be able to talk about it. OK.

8:17: Yeah. A lawsuit could definitely be ugly.

8:18: Emily gave Shana a test. Smart.

8:19: "Ali could make someone love her enough to do that." What a true statement.

8:22: So, Travis. Nice guy, or sketchy?

8:23: Well, Shana has the right answer, anyway.

8:23: Emily going alone is the only way to be safe? Really? Maybe Ali doesn't trust one of the other Liars...

8:24: Cute top, Hanna!

8:24: Oh, the ol' teaching someone to pay pool trick, eh Travis?

8:25: Spencer is not buying Shana's story. Of course, Spencer never trusts anyone, so that makes sense.

8:27: Mr. Hastings wants a nice family night? Don't trust him, Spencer!

8:27: We love Spencer opening questioning her father. He is the sketchiest.

8:28: Who is Ezra yelling at? It was a blonde. Meredith? Maggie? Someone else? Could you guys tell?

8:31: Aw. Travis is all honorable and understanding and stuff. He's no Caleb, but at least he seems like a good guy. (Of course, on this show that probably means he's evil.)

8:32: Oh, look at Em getting dressed up nicely. Her relationship with Ali is so complex.

8:33: "You kiss all your friends like that?" We love you, Ashley.

8:34: Oh Hanna, you're killing us.

8:35: Ali's mom is on the board at Radley? Interesting

8:35: Spencer's sweater is covered in giraffes. We can't decide if it's fantastic, or twee.

8:36: The Hanna/Caleb breakup might be the worst thing The Curse has caused. (We're kidding. A bunch of teens dying every time there's a war is worse. Maybe.)

8:38: "I'm not afraid of Ezra." "Maybe you should be." Jake has a point. We'll miss you, Jake.

8:43: There's a place where you can throw plates against the wall? Where is this? Rosewood? Did they go all the way to Philly? Is this a real place? We want this.

8:44: Way to not beat around the bush, Aria. Good for you.

8:45: Ezra claims the woman in question is Maggie's lawyer, because Maggie is trying to keep him away from Malcolm. Do you guys think there's any truth in that? Or is it all 100 percent "A" lies?

8:47: ALI!

8:48: Ali isn't sure about the Liars. Ha! Called it.

8:49: Ali needs them to find "A" for her to come home. So, does she think "A" and her attempted killer is one and the same?

8:49: Well, that was heartbreaking.

8:53: Shay is killing it in this scene.

8:53: What do think? Is Spencer right? Is Ali still playing games? Was this all a trick? Or is Spencer in the wrong here? Does Ali have a reason not to trust her?

8:54: That's one of our favorite scenes of the season. Maybe ever.

8:55: Sorry Spence, Toby signed the agreement. He talked to his dad. We forgot his dad was even a person.

8:55: "Let it go, Spencer. It's over." Letting go is not something Spencer is generally good at.

8:57: Oh, Hanna. It hurts so much to see you try to make sense of this. It doesn't make sense. There's a curse. And ghosts.

8:57: "It was the best year of my life." Sobbing again.

8:58: Why hello there, sweaty shirtless Jake. You're hot.

8:58: What?! Did Ezra set up those knives to get at Jake? What do you think?

8:59: "A" is burning a childhood pic of Ali and Shana. Bad news for Shana?
